Isolated man with high sex drive walks free after downloading “very disturbing” child porn

AN isolated Warrington man with a high sex drive was found to have almost 1,000 indecent images of children being abused when his home was raided.

Sentencing Jordan Clarkson today (Fri) a judge pointed out that some of the 949 images, which included videos, “were particularly grave and showed rapes of children.”

The disgusting images in all three categories of seriousness as well as two extreme images involving bestiality with a dog were found after forensic examination of three iPhones seized by the police.

Chris Hopkins, prosecuting, told Liverpool Crown Court that police went to Clarkson’s home in Almond Drive, Burtonwood, Warrington, on April 4 last year and took away a number of electronic devices.
Clarkson, 25, made no comment and was released under investigation but re-arrested after the haul of child porn was found when he admitted responsibility for them.
Mr Hopkins said that a Tor browser, designed to hide which websites he had visited, had been installed but these were found to include two called ‘father raping daughter’ and ‘incest’.
The defendant pleaded guilty to six offences involving possessing and making indecent images, possessing two extreme porn images and possessing a prohibited image.

Carmel Wilde, defending, said that Clarkson, who has no previous convictions, no longer maintained that he did not obtain sexual gratification from looking at the images.
“He found it hard to face his very shameful behaviour. He indicates that he had a high sex drive and there was a lack of sexual intimacy.”
He was very isolated and struggled with anxiety and depression and resorted to the internet. “Matters spiralled out of control,” she said.
He has voluntarily sought help from the Lucy Faithfull Foundation and wants to engage with probation services, added Miss Wilde.

Sentencing him Judge Anil Murray said that his website searches were “very disturbing.”
He said there had to be a custodial sentence but he was prepared to suspend it. He warned Clarkson, “You are not likely to get a chance again.”
He sentenced him to 12 months imprisonment suspended for two years and ordered him to carry out 100 hours unpaid work and 20 rehabilitation activity days.
The judge also imposed a six month mental health treatment requirement and attendance on a Horizon probation course. He ordered him to sign on the Sex Offenders Register for ten years and made a Sexual Harm Prevention Order for the same length of time.
