Council confirm various road closures for up to 10 weeks

VARIOUS road closures have been confirmed across Warrington from a week on Monday (May 13) for up to 10 weeks for carriageway surface dressing.

The closures will impact various areas of the town from Old Hall to Lymm as listed below from 9.30 am until 3.30 pm.

Warrington Borough Council has made an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which is as follows: –
Prohibition of Driving & Clearway: (1) Cromwell Avenue from Waterways/Canons Road to Old Hall Road/Cavendish Close; (2) Cromwell Avenue from Twenty Acre Road/Old Hall Road to Twenty Acre Road/Shackleton Close; (3) Cromwell Avenue from Callands Road (East)/Europa Boulevard (East) to Europa Boulevard (West); High Legh Road from Higher Lane to the Borough Boundary; Warrington Road (Higher Walton) from Park Lane to Old Chester Road.
Temporary Suspension of The Borough of Warrington (B5158 Cherry Lane and Elm Tree Road, Lymm) (7.5 Tonne Weight Limit, Except for Access) Consolidation Order 2016 in its entirety.
The Order will be effective from 13th May 2024 for 10 weeks, between 9:30am and 3:30pm, as and when signed on site. The works will only take 3/4 days per location to complete however are weather dependent. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative routes will be as follows: (1) Cromwell Avenue via Canons Road, Hood Lane North, Sycamore Lane, Tankersley Grove, Whittle Avenue, Westbrook Way and vice versa; (2) Cromwell Avenue via Twenty Acre Road and vice versa; (3) Cromwell Avenue via Europa Boulevard and vice versa; High Legh Road via A56 Higher Lane, A56 Church Road, A56 Booths Hill Road, Elm Tree Road, Cherry Lane, A50 Cliff Lane, A50 Warrington Road, West Lane and vice versa; Warrington Road via Park Lane, A56 Chester Road, Old Chester Road and vice versa. The restrictions are required for carriageway surface dressing.
