Road closure for up to two weeks at Lymm for gas mains renewal works

A road closure for up to two weeks will come into force at Lymm next month (May) for gas mains renewal work.

The closure will be on Grove Avenue, Lymm for 90 metres in a northerly direction from the junction with Booths Hill Road.

Warrington Borough Council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving on Grove Avenue from its junction with Booths Hill Road for 90 metres in a northerly direction.
The Order will be effective from 6th May 2024 for 2 weeks, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Booths Hill Road, Barsbank Lane, Daisy Bank Road and vice versa. The closure is required to allow Cadent Gas to carry out gas mains renewal works.

The following week on May 12, there will also be a one day road closure on The Cross for repair works.

The council has given notice it intends to make an Order under Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. The effect of which will be to introduce a prohibition of driving as follows: The Cross from its junction with Rectory Lane to its junction with Lymm Bridge; Lymm Bridge from its junction with The Cross to its junction with Dane Bank Road.
The Order will be effective from 12th May 2024 for 1 day, as and when signed on site. Access will be under the control of the relevant Contractor for the duration of the works. The alternative route will be via Dane Bank Road, Brookfield Road, Eagle Brow and vice versa. The closure is required to allow United Utilities to carry out carriageway remedial works.
