Three more deaths confirmed at Warrington Hospital as COVID-19 inpatient numbers continue to climb

THREE more patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital as COVID-19 inpatient numbers continue to climb, with 24 new admissions in the past 24 hours.

There are currently 145 COVID-19 inpatients at the hospital, including 17 in intensive care. The highest number of COVID-19 positive inpatients during the first wave was on 12th April with 124 patients of which 18 were in ICU.
Meanwhile another 124 (189) new COVID-19 positive cases have been reported in the latest daily update from Public Health England, which means the total number of confirmed cases in Warrington since the start of the pandemic is now 5,656 (5,532).
Cases in Warrington for the last seven days are 875 – 416.6 per 100,000 population.

Covid-19 positive inpatients 145 (121) – Of which 17 (16) are in ICU
Total number of tests (inpatients/community) cumulative – 31,389 (31,156)
Total tests with a positive result (inpatients/community/died/discharged) cumulative 2,058 (2,030)
Discharges of positive patients (excluding deaths) cumulative 584 (577)
Deaths of Covid-19 positive inpatients cumulative 188 (185)
A total of 45 patients have now died at the hospital in the month of October.

According to the latest data from Public Health England there have now been 197 (196) deaths in Warrington, 93.8 per 100,000 population.
Across the UK the daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 280 (310), taking the total number of deaths to 45,955 (45,675).
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 23,065 (24,701), taking the total number to 965,340 (942,275).
Across the country, there are 10,308 (9,520) patients currently in hospital and 957 (902) patients in ventilator beds.
