New skipper for cricket club

APPLETON Cricket Club will start the 2010 season with a new first team captain when Dave Hurst steps down from the position after 10 years.
Pete Worrall, vice captain, will step up at the team’s first fixture at home against Wilmslow Wayfarers on April 24.
He said: “Dave Hurst will step down after 10 successful years at the helm. I am looking forward to taking on the challenge and driving the club forward.”
The Club, on Lyons Lane, runs four Saturday League teams, a Sunday and midweek social team, several junior teams and a ladies section.
