THE Asda Foundation has helped bring some early Christmas cheer to 18 good causes in the Warrington area.
The foundation is committed to supporting grass roots charities and will be awarding money to charities as part of their Christmas activity to celebrate and thank groups for their commitment to local communities the year.
Throughout September, the foundation encouraged community groups or charities, who have gone above and beyond to combat social isolation, delivered vital food and medications to people and shined through in their help for the local community throughout this pandemic. Applications closed 30th September, and then shared with store colleagues, who voted for whom they felt met the criteria.
Liz Cotterill, Community Colleague & Mentor based at Asda Cockhedge, said: “There were six Christmas grants available, per store. Making eighteen grants of £300 available for Warrington – totalling £5,400!!!!
“Many thanks to everyone who nominated and helped to choose the good causes – we had over 40 nominations and here is who will receive a £300 Christmas Grant this Christmas! We are very proud to share with you our community – who will receive the Christmas Thank you Grants 2020.”
