Missing woman found safe and well at Woolston

EMERGENCY services were called out earlier today (Thursday) following concerns for a missing woman in the Woolston area.

Fire crews and police arrived at the scene on Weir Lane and started a search of the River Mersey.
The woman was eventually found safe and well on land nearby.
A Police spokesperson said: “Joint operation between Police, Fire and Ambulance in the Woolston Eyes area helped locate a high risk missing person.
“Police officers, dogs and helicopter, fire crews including their boat and rope access team, plus NWAS crews and their HART team all worked together and located the person alive. They are now receiving treatment in hospital.”
