WOLVES stars brought some Easter cheer when they visited patients and staff at Warrington Hospital.
And for youngsters on the children’s ward there was an extra surprise as each received an Easter egg.
The full Wolves squad and head of coaching Tony Smith took part in the visit to the wards in Appleton, Burtonwood and Croft Wings.
Wolfie and the Easter Bunny were also involved, with player Paul Wood dressing for the occasion. Easter eggs were donated by the Co-operative Food store on Lovely Lane.
Club captain Adrian Morley and Matt King visited the stroke ward and raised the spirits of patients as they talked about their recent wins on the field.
Jill Holland, play specialist on the children’s ward, said: “The players are always sociable and lift the spirits of the children on the ward, it is a great distraction from the reason they are in hospital.
“It was really special and it was lovely to have lots of smiles and laughter in the playroom. The Easter eggs where a lovely gift and even more special to the children that they where given by their heroes.”
Tony Smith said: “It was our pleasure to visit the hospital. It brought a lot of happiness to a lot of young people, but also to our people.
“It was good for our guys to give something back to the local community and to appreciate that some people are in situations not quite as comfortable as their own. It will help them to appreciate the gifts that they do have and the role models that they are.”
