Irish night raised £4,200 for Shannon

A GRAND total of £4,200 was raised at a special Irish evening in Lymm to help send a local youngster to America for vital eye surgery.
Little Shannon Boam, of High Legh, was born with the rare Peters Plus Syndrome, leaving her virtually blind.
Special surgery, known as keratoprosthesis, performed in the United States would cost £27,000 and her parents, Simon and Julie, have launched an appeal to raise the money.
Shannon’s plight touched the hearts of many local people, including Kate and Liz Pritchard, from The Gallery Salon at Statham and they decided to organise the Irish Night at Statham Lodge.
There was a guest appearance from The Bogtrotters and the evening proved a great success.
Liz said: “We would like to thank all the local businesses and people who supported the evening and helped make it a success.
“We hope as a result of this event, more people will come forward and help raise the £27,000 Shannon needs for the surgery to save her sight.”
