Chimney fire spreads to fence and wheelie bins

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night after a chimney fire at Great Sankey, Warrington, spread to a fence and wheelie bins.

The incident took place at around 11.40pm when firefighters from Penketh received a report of a fire in Payne Close, Great Sankey.
On arrival, the crew discovered that a chimney fire had spread to a fence and wheelie bins at the back of a domestic property.
Firefighters used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
They also cut away sections of the fence.
Firefighters left the scene once they were satisfied that the fire was fully extinguished and the address was safe.
They were in attendance for more than half-an-hour.
It is believed to have been an accidental fire.
