A MAN was rescued from a smoke-filled house at Warrington after fire broke out in a bedroom.
The blaze was at a property in Grasmere Avenue, Orford at around 7.30pm last night and fire engines from Birchwood and Lymm were sent to the scene.
Smoke alarms were sounding as crews arrived and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus entered the property and rescued a man, taking him to a safe place outside.
The other occupiers of the house were already outside.
Firefighters extinguished the fire, which involved a heating lamp in a bedroom. A hose reel jet was used.
The electricity supply to the property was isolated and paramedics assessed the occupiers.
No-one was believed to have been injured as a result of the fire.
Once they were satisfied that the property was safe firefighters left the scene after being in attendance for around half-an-hour.
