Firefighters tackle bin fire on Winwick Road

FIREFIGHTERS were called out to tackle a fire in a bin opposite the retail park off Winwick Road, Warrington, shortly after 7.30pm last night.

The crew were able to quickly put the fire out and were at the scene for 10 minutes.

Meanwhile on Friday evening Firefighters were called to reports of a car on fire on Delph Lane, Winwick at 5.20pm.
A crew from Warrington attended and found the fire had been extinguished. They used a hose reel jet to cool the engine and a thermal imaging camera to check for hotspots.
They also disconnected the battery to make the car safe and were at the scene for around 20 minutes.
