Neighbours oppose plan to demolish disused house

A PLAN to demolish a disused house and outbuildings at Culcheth and replace them with a new house is being opposed by neighbours and by Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.

The proposal in Broseley Lane will be considered by Warrington Borough Council’s development management committee tonight (Wednesday).
Objectors claim the scheme represents overdevelopment of the site, overlooking and loss of privacy and loss of wildlife habitats and trees. They also say the design of the proposed new house is not appropriate for the area.
There are also concerns about a dangerous access to the site and flooding as it is claimed the rear of the existing property already has flooding issues.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved. They do not believe there will be any unacceptable impact on neighbours and say the demolition of a h9use and outbuildings which are disused and in a poor state of repair will result on an improvement.

The outbuildings currently do not add anything of aesthetic value to the area.
Nearby Leigh Golf Club has drawn attention to a covenant on the land, but officers say this has no planning relevance.
