LiveWire announces plans to reopen selected leisure and library sites

LIVEWIRE has unveiled initial plans for reopening some leisure and library sites next month (July), in line with Government guidance.

In line with the Government’s plan for indoor leisure providers to begin to restart services next month, changes have been made at venues to allow people get back to the gym and our libraries.
Due to social distancing they will have to limit the number of people on site. In order to do this, they will be asking people to pre-book their visit in advance.
It will not be possible during the first phase of re-opening to attend without pre-booking.
Full details on how to book slots will be given prior toreopening. Pre-booking will apply to both the gym, and group exercise classes – members will have priority booking.
A contactless check-in process on arrival and new one-way systems around parts of buildings will be in operation, with floor markings and directional signs.
Social distancing will be crucial to reception areas and both the gym and group exercise classes. The many outdoor spaces and sports pitches at Hub sites will be utilised for personal training and group exercise classes alongside some
block bookers. There will be no changing facilities or showers available initially. Toilets however will be available.

Meanwhile In line with the Government’s plan for libraries to open next month, changes have been made to help people to access libraries safely.
It is hoped some libraries will be open in early July – however this will be dependent on Government advice.
In the meantime, we have taken the following steps to mitigate the impact the current situation may have on any items currently on loan:
No charges for overdue materials issued from 1st March.
Items on loan have had their loan period extended until 30th September.
Due to social distancing there will be a limit to the number of people on site. In order to do this, we will be restricting the number of people accessing the library at any one time and limits being placed on visit durations.
A contactless returns and issue process will be in place and new one-way systems around parts of buildings will be in operation, with floor markings and directional signs.
Customers will be discouraged from handling books during their time in the library however wipes will be provided to ensure books can be wiped down if handled.
Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult to ensure social distancing guidelines are followed.
