Firefighters tackle large garden fire at Orford

TWO fire crews were called out to a large garden fire in Orford yesterday evening which affected two properties and five other gardens.

Th incident took place on North Avenue at 18:47, when two fire crews, one from Warrington and one from Stockton Heath were called to a garden fire in North Avenue, Warrington.
The fire affected large conifer trees, garden furniture and fencing. It spread to approximately five gardens and affected two properties.
Crews used breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a main jet to put out the fire. They also checked the two affected properties for fire spread and dampened down the affected area.
Firefighters were in attendance for approximately three hours.

Earlier in the evening at 17:10 one fire crew from Stockton Heath was called to Clearwater Quays, Warrington, following reports of a fire on the embankment of an old railway line.
Crews used a hose reel to put out the fire which is thought to have been started deliberately.
