Youngsters risking lives jumping into Latchford Locks

WARRINGTON Police have received reports of youngsters risking their lives by jumping into the water at Latchford Locks.

With the hot weather and some relaxing of lockdown measures police say they have been receiving reports of youths jumping in and swimming at Latchford Locks.
Swimming in open water has its dangers and they strongly advise people not to do it no matter how tempting the water looks.
Earlier in the week there were also reports of youths swimming in the water at Walton Reservoir, which is also extremely dangerous.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service is urging people, particularly children and teenagers, not to swim anywhere other than in purpose-built and supervised swimming pools unless they are members of an organised swimming group.
If you spot someone in trouble in the water, please use 999 to call Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service.
