No further COVID-19 related deaths reported at Warrington Hospital

THERE have been no new deaths reported at Warrington Hospital of patients who tested positive for COVID-19, with the death toll remaining at 118, an increase of four from last week.

The hospital is currently caring for 48 Covid-19 positive inpatients (last week 57) 5 of whom are in ICU (last week 6).
The average daily attendance at the hospital’s Emergency Dept. over the past seven days was 189 (last week average was 185) and at the Urgent Care Centre was 41 (last week average was 39).
At least 94 people have died in local care homes, taking the town’s death toll to at least 212.
The total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases of Warrington residents reported at the hospital now stands at 764 – a rate of 364.6 per 100,000 population.
(Its unclear if there have been any new cases reported as the national data site today reports 762 confirmed cases – two less than yesterday.)
As of yesterday (May 28), Warrington Hospital had tested 5,110 (last week 4,422) inpatients/community of which 1,050 tested positive (1,008 last week). (Not all those tested are from Warrington).
They have discharged 292 patients (273).
Across the UK the Daily number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths was 324 taking the total number of deaths to 38,161.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 2,095 taking the total number to 271,222.

Meanwhile Contact tracers say they are still encountering technical difficulties and other problems with the national test and trace programme, including delayed pay, on the second day of the track and trace scheme.
The government’s coronavirus programme launched on Thursday but was immediately hit by IT problems.
NHS workers in the scheme reported being unable to log into the new website, with staff saying they received a message saying a “critical incident” has been reported with the system designed to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
