Washing basket on cooker hob starts accidental fire

FIREFIGHTERS were called out yesterday evening following reports of a fire involving a washing basket which had been left on a cooker hob.

The incident took pace around 6pm at a domestic property in Cabul Close, Orford, Warrington.
The small fire involving a plastic washing basket was out of arrival, although a smoke alarm was sounding.
Firefighters ventilated the property to clear the smoke that was caused by the fire.
They were in attendance for around 20 minutes.
A washing basket being left on a cooker hob is believed to be the cause of the accidental fire.
