PLANNING officers say there will be no perceivable impact on neighbours if a resident is allowed to build a garden store.
But members of Warrington’s development control committee have decided they want to visit the site to make sure before they reach a decision on whether the two-storey building can be erected in the grounds of a house in Cherry Lane, Lymm.
They adjourned the hearing until after a visit has taken place.
The proposed building would be in the grounds of a listed, semi-detached house near the junction of Old Smithy Lane.
Eight neighbours have objected on the grounds the site has already been overdeveloped, there will be a loss of privacy and daylight for an adjoining house and the scheme could result in drainage issues.
They also fear the new building could later be converted to a dwelling.
Coun Sheila Woodyatt has also expressed concern that the store – a detached outbuilding – would be prominent on the street scene and overbearing due to its height.
Planning officers are recommending the scheme be approved.
