Furniture fire spreads to wheelie bins

FIREFIGHTERS were called out last night when furniture on fire on Eastford Road, Lower Walton, Warrington, spread to wheelie bins.

One fire crew attended at the scene from Knutsford just before midnight. A hose reel was used to put out the fire.
Earlier in the evening a crew from Knutsford also attended a wheelie bin fire near Grasmere Avenue, Orford.
The crew extinguished the fire involving a wheelie bin in a wooded area near Grasmere Avenue.
A hose reel jet was used to put out the fire and to dampen down.

Meanwhile various fire crews from the Warrington area were involved in tackling a large industrial fire on Deacon Road, Widnes last night.
Nine fire engine attended – one from Widnes, one from Lymm, one from Chester, one from Birchwood, one from Stockton Heath, one from Warrington, two from Penketh and one from Runcorn
Crews wearing breathing apparatus checked the temperature of a number of cylinders.
Residents who had been evacuated from their homes were able to return during the early hours of the morning and road closures were lifted.
There are believed to be no casualties.
