More than 160 COVID-19 patients discharged and Warrington Hospital inpatient numbers down

WHILE two more patients have sadly died at Warrington Hospital after testing positive for COVID-19, a total of 161 peope have been discharged, with the number of inpatients down on last week.

As of noon today (Friday) 1,677 patients had been tested in hospital or in the community. Of those 602 tested positive and Warrington Hospital are currently caring for 100 inpatients, which is down on the 113 last week. They have now discharged a total 161 patients. The majority of those testing positive do not require hospital treatment
The latest figures confirmed 64 deaths have now been recorded at Warrington and Halton Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The number of confirmed cases of Coronavirus for Warrington is now 516. While Warrington & Halton Hospital has tested 602, they don’t all live in the area.
The latest figures come on the back of Warrington & Halton Hospitals medics developing ground-breaking treatment, helping to reduce the death toll, using black boxes, normally used for dealing with sleeping disorders.
Across the country the number of new deaths reported today was 684, taking the total number of COVID-19 associated UK deaths in hospital to 19,506.
None of the data includes deaths at care homes or elsewhere, which is believed to be in the thousands.
The daily number of lab-confirmed UK cases was 5,386, taking the national total to 143,464.

At the Government’s daily briefing, transport secretary Grant Shapps said 612,031, people had so far been tested.
He said 17,049 peope are currently in hospital with COVID-19 – 10 per cent down on the same day last week.
By respecting social distancing measures he said the whole country was winning against the virus.
