Parents urged to keep an eye on youngsters after rave on local park

VIDEO: PARENTS are being urged to keep an eye on their youngsters following a “rave on Mary Ann Meadows recreation ground at Westbrook, Warrington on Saturday night.

Police were called in to break up the gathering which left the area littered with nitrous oxide (laughing gas) capsules, broken glass and balloons.

Local estate agent David Linaker stumbled across the unsightly scene littering the park while walking his dog on Sunday morning.

He posted as a video on facebook urging parents in the area to keep an eye on their youngsters who are putting themselves and others at risk by ignoring Government advice on social distancing during the Coronavirus pandemic.

Around 50 youths were involved with several shouting abuse at officers who attended to disperse the group.
