A FORMER Warrington pub can be converted into offices, a Government-appointed planning inspector has ruled.
The Railway public house, in Knutsford Road, Latchford has stood unused for some years – and looked set to remain so after the borough council threw out applications for permission to change its use to either offices or a restaurant and takeaway.
Now the inspector has ruled that a change of use to offices would be appropriate – but rejected the restaurant and takeaway scheme.
He says the amount of day time trips to or from an office is likely to be higher than for a pub but it unlikely to cause a material increase traffic volumes, nor cause any road safety problems.
But a restaurant and takeaway would cause a significant increase in traffic in the evenings leading to parking problems in Knutsford Road
