COMMUNITY groups in the Birchwood area of Warrington will benefit from a new fund set up under the Warrington Grassroots scheme.
The dedicated fund is being launched by mixed-use business estate MEPC Birchwood Park.
Organisations in Birchwood, Locking Stumps and Gorse Covert and Oakwood can benefit from the initiative.
MEPC managing director Jonathan Walsh said: “Here at Birchwood Park we have always believed it is important that we are ambassadors for our local community. This new fund will allow us to support our local community for the long-term, creating a sustainable scheme that can provide grants to Birchwood causes for many years to come.
“By creating this fund in partnership with Warrington Grassroots, the Birchwood business community will be able double every we pound raise and double the difference we can make to our community.”
Russ Bowden, chairman of The Birchwood Partnership, added: “Everyone is excited about getting involved and supporting the creation of a fund that builds on the good work already in place.
“We will be facilitating a variety of fundraising events and liaising with the companies based on Birchwood Park and the wider Birchwood area to get them on-board to create something positive for the long-term at a time when everything seems uncertain.”
