3D technolgy to aid planners

WARRINGTON based architects DV8 Design are leading the way with new state of the art technology showing planning chiefs exactly what an extension will look like.
A planning application has recently been submitted for a contemporary extension to a private Victorian house in Stockton Heath.
A substantial extension will be added to the existing 3-storey dwelling, making a stylish architectural statement that compliments the existing property and enhances the character of the road.
The extension will accommodate an improved and more accessible fashionable large open plan living/dining space, as well as a lavish master bedroom with en-suite bathroom and walk-in wardrobe, creating a sustainable luxurious family home. DV8 have made the most of the beautiful private garden, with full height bi-fold doors expanding the living area into the outside.
The form consists of two volumes, one clad in warm cedar boarding and the other in Colgate white render. DV8 have cleverly melded the modern extension with the Victorian house it’s attached to by re-modeling the first floor bay window and existing extension. Overhanging roofs of varied heights break up the façade. DV8 have included chic design features such as seamless corner windows and a lounge roof that appears to float from the south side.
Picture shows how the extension will look.

  1. looks like the entrance to the crematorium to be honest! Not quite what some would think is in keeping with the character of the original house and area!

  2. Excellent…and about time!

This technology has been available for at least 10 years, better late than never!

Maybe it will speed up the planning process, now the planners won’t have to drive miles to see the proposed site, saving fuel, tax payers money and a carbon friendly footprint?
