Electric blanket warning

FIRE Chiefs in Warrington are urging residents to check the safety of their electric blankets following a house fire in Orford on Christmas Day.
One man was taken to hospital suffering chest pains following the blaze at a house in South Avenue, Orford which left the property badly smoke logged.
Afterwards crews issued a safety warning to residents to ensure that any electric blankets carry the British Standard safety kite mark and are checked regularly.
There were no smoke alarms fitted at the property so a Home Safety Assessment was also carried out by crews.
