THE first ever Santa Dash organised by Warrington Disability Partnership proved to be a great success with plans for it to be repeated “bigger and better” at Walton Hall and Gardens next year.
Dozens of supporters of the charity, including Mayor of Warrington Cllr Wendy Johnson, donned 5 piece Santa outfits kindly donated by Birchwood Shopping Centre, to take part in a 3k dash around Walton Hall and gardens.
Every one who took part made donations to the charity which has also, for the first time been running the Santa’s Grotto in the heritage yard.
Guest of honour at the event was Latchford runner Sarah Matthews, who has run an incredible 52 marathons in 52 weeks to raise funds for the charity despite suffering from a a debilitating illness.
She was one of a number of inspirational people taking part, over coming disabilities.
WDP Chief Executive Dave Thompson, said plans were already in place for a “bigger and better” Santa Dash next year.
Meanwhile next weekend is the final chance for children to visit Santa’s grotto.
