AN UNDER-sevens football team at Great Sankey, Warrington, has won sponsorship from a major house builder.
Whittle Hall JFC Wizards, based at the Great Sankey Neighbourhood Hub, has received £200 towards the cost of tracksuit tops to wear on match days.
Club chairman Dave Smith said: “The football club was formed in 1998 and we’re celebrating our 21st anniversary this year.
“The majority of this team has been together since they were five and all the players are developing well. We’re seeing improvements week by week. Each game they have a smile on their face and are enjoying their football.”
One of the coaches had recently purchased a home from Redrow Homes
Lesley Myers, sales manager at Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said supporting sports teams close to where they build is a key part of the company’s commitment to creating thriving communities: “One of the coaches had recently purchased a home and got in contact to see if we could support the team by sponsoring the children’s kits. The tracksuit tops look great and I wish the under-seven’s the best of luck this season.”
