FAMILY and friends have paid tribute to Warrington woman Heather Warden who died while she was working in the Dutch capital of Amsterdam.

The family of former Padgate High School and Priestley College student Heather, who died aged 28, have released the tribute following her death on 17/09/2019 in Amsterdam.

Heather is the cherished daughter of Gary and Mandy and stepdaughter to Amanda and Rob. She was also the beloved granddaughter of Trevor and Laraine Friar and Derek and Doris Warden (deceased), and dearly loved by her two uncles Jamie Friar and family and Geoffrey Warden (deceased).

She was absolutely adored by her sisters Hayley and Olivia, her best friends Lucy and Polly, and just too many others to mention. Her doting love for her family extended very much to Keano, her Golden Retriever.

Heather grew up in Fearnhead, Warrington. Her education began at Cinnamon Brow Primary School, before continuing on to Padgate High School, then Priestley College, and finally achieving a first-class degree in Finance & Accounting at the University of Salford. She was soon travelling the world and having adventures throughout Asia with her friend Lucy, a truly memorable trip to New York with her Mother and her sister Hayley to celebrate hers and her mum’s birthdays together, and a California road trip with her dad and sister. Heather travelled far and wide and eventually settled in Amsterdam working at Liberty Global while completing her CIMA qualification. She achieved so much in her short life.

In addition to her global adventures, Heather enjoyed fine dining, fashion, fitness and Manchester United. Christmas was her favourite time of year, she loved it no doubt because she was such a truly thoughtful, loving and giving person. Heather was a fitness fanatic doing several classes back to back at the gym, sometimes dragging family members along also to be exhausted by her endless energy and vitality, and she was enjoying cycling around Amsterdam in her free time. Growing up, she loved being with her dog, Keano, and she planned to get her own Golden Retriever called “Hugo”. Her ideal dream life was a huge house in California with ten Golden Retrievers.
We have been truly touched by everyone’s compassion, empathy and overwhelming support since Heather passed away which has been incredibly comforting to us all while we try to deal with our immense loss; we have all lost someone truly amazing. We know Heather is looking down on us with a huge smile at the addition of our new Golden Retriever puppy “Hugo” in her memory.

Friend Lucy paid the following tribute:
I remember Heather’s favourite day whilst travelling South East Asia, she got to Bath a baby elephant and his mum in Chiang Mai. She fell in love with the little fella, hugging him and feeding him Bananas. She also really loved Angkor Watt in Siem Reap, Cambodia, we cycled around the whole place all day long, taking pictures and pretending to be Lara Croft in Tomb Raider.
Every country we went Heather would adopt a local dog, letting them stay in the room and they would follow her around everywhere. She was so kind to animals, she had a soft heart for dogs.

Another friend Polly wrote:
Heather and I enjoyed going on runs together and afterwards she would make delicious healthy teas for us both. My favourite was Chicken Kiev and for dessert, pancakes with blueberries and bananas. We loved going to music festivals such as Hideout in Croatia and Sziget in Budapest, dancing the night away and meeting new people. Our girly holidays were great too, such as Amsterdam, Ibiza and going to meet our great friend Lucy in Bali. My final favourite thing was going to Heather’s local pub the Farmers Arms, drinking red wine or gin, chatting & getting drunk!
