Charity giving to enhance your CV

A CHARITY is urging sixth formers in Warrington to enhance their CVs – by encouraging charity giving in the community.
The NSPCC Sixth Form CVA Challenge will ask schools in the area to come up with innovative fundraising ideas and then see which sixth form can raise the most money.
The Child’s Voice Appeal (CVA) is the charity’s latest fundraising drive to raise money for its helplines – ChildLine for children and young people and the NSPCC Helpline, which provides advice to adults who are worried about a child’s welfare or wellbeing.
Schools have until June next year to raise funds. There will be prizes, including driving lessons, for the school that raises the most money and the school with the most innovative ideas.
Nathalie Coverley, NSPCC fundraising manager, said: “The challenge is to help us raise more money so that we can answer more calls to our helplines – quite simply, we may be a child’s only hope, so we have to be able to answer their call.
“The Sixth Form CVA Challenge is a great way for us to get new ideas from the next generation of fundraisers. We hope it will bring out the best in young people who are striving for success as they near the end of their studies and are looking to enhance their CVs for the future.”
Students can plan a one-off fundraising event or a series of smaller events, and the charity will offer them support.
