VISITORS to Warrington town centre are being asked to “Bring a Pound to Shop” this Saturday (November 21) in aid of a local charity.
Volunteers are also needed to help the Warrington Council for Voluntary Services (CVS) fundraising initiative.
CVS chief executive Nigel Bacon said: “We are looking for volunteers from 2pm until 4pm on the day to help collect and count money which will be our biggest fundraising event to date with our supporter, The Golden Square Shopping Centre.”
Money raised will go towards Warrington Grassroots fund that provides grants to community groups in the town.
Ian Cox, of the shopping centre, said: “We are delighted to be hosting this event in aid of Warrington Grassroots, we have approx. 50,000 visitors on an average Saturday – if everyone gave a £1 that would have a huge impact on the community.
“What is even better is that for every pound received on the day, we can double through match-funding from the Government, so even more money goes to Warrington.”
Anyone who would like to volunteer should email on [email protected] or call Warrington CVS on 01925 246880.
