STUDENTS at Warrington’s Priestly College had the chance to showcase their business acumen as part of the annual Challenge Day event.
Representatives from McDonalds and Sapphire Education and Training set a series of challenges for 120 students on the AS Business course and one of the new diplomas in Business, Administration and Finance.
Working against the clock, they were asked to design a new product for McDonald’s menu as well as a new staff uniform. They were also given the chance to debate the problems facing businesses in a recession and way in which to solve them.
Debbie Booth, assistant curriculum manager for Business said: “It was great to welcome in a range of outside visitors to Priestley. The students really enjoyed the challenge as it gave them the opportunity to get to grips with some of the burning issues affecting the UK business sector at this point in time.”
