Georgia shows the way towards sustainable living

AFTER a successful debut event earlier this year, Sustainable Living returns tomorrow (Saturday) – this time hosted inside the award winning Warrington Market.
Georgia Roberts, originally from Great Sankey, set up the not-for-profit business last year after starting a family and finding it difficult to find alternative choices for her son at a reasonable price.
She said: “I’m really looking forward to bringing the Sustainable Living Market to Warrington for the first time.
“I found I would spend my evenings researching alternatives to products and looking into changes our family wanted to make. From this research, Sustainable Living was born.”
“Our online shop helps people find eco-friendly products all in one place, to save them time. The market is a brilliant extension of this, bringing together lots of amazing stalls and organisations together offline. It is a one stop for all things sustainable to give people chance to find out more about living an eco-friendly lifestyle.”
After the success of her first event, which took place at Croft Village Memorial Hall in April, Georgia threw herself into organising her next market after a meeting with the management team at Warrington Market.
Georgia is carrying on a family legacy, promoting eco-friendly living, as her grandmother had a health food shop in the old Warrington Market.
Cllr Judith Guthrie, cabinet member for environment and public protection, said: “We’re very excited to welcome Sustainable Living to Warrington Market and commend Georgia’s efforts to encourage people to use more eco-friendly products in their everyday lives.
“It’s great to see businesses like Sustainable Living leading the way on making sustainable products available and affordable for everyone. We can all consider what small changes we can make that will have a big impact on our environment.”
