WORK on Warrington Wolves’ new training facility at Chester University’s Padgate campus is well underway, with completion expected in time for pre-season training.
The outside build is complete and work on the interior has now started. Complementing the facilities already in place, the amenity will contain a state-of-the-art gym, wrestling area, medical room and physiotherapy/rehabilitation room. Its completion will create a site encompassing all of the team’s training needs.
Both Warrington Wolves Deputy Chairman Steven Broomhead and Chief Executive Andy Gatcliffe were on site to check on the project’s development, and both were pleased with the rate of progress.
Steven said: “A lot of progress has been made in a short space of time. The fact we will be able to move into the facility in time for pre-season training is both a massive boost for the club and a testament to the hard work of all those associated with this project.
“The club will soon have access to a world-class training centre that few other teams in Super League possess, and I believe that this facility is the next step in Warrington’s journey towards rugby league excellence.”
Built in conjunction with the University of Chester, the gym will also be available for use by university teams as part of their training requirements, and Andy
added his thanks to the university. “Soon, both Warrington Wolves and the University of Chester will have a truly first class training facility, and the continued
co-operation of the university has played a key part in making this happen.”
