Pub festival boost for charity

ALMOST 500 people attended the second B-Fest at the Jolly Thresher pub in Lymm.
Organisers are optimistic that they will beat last year’s fundraising amount of £3,000. Money will go to Diabetes Research and Myeloma Blood Cancer Research.
The B-Fest is so named as it is in Broomedge, and features beer, bands and barbecue. It is organised by Jane and David Holmes, with pub staff and volunteers.
Father Michael Burgess, from St Peter’s Church, Lymm, blessed the day. There was a hog roast, barbecue and music from eight local bands.
A range of goods had been donated and they were auctioned by local actress Jenny Powell.
Mine host Jonathan Wrigley said: “The day went extremely well and we were very lucky with the weather.”
