Caravan storage plan thrown out

A PLAN to change the use of a piece of land at Great Sankey to allow the storage of caravans has been thrown out by Warrington planning chiefs.
Applicant Raymond McCloughlin wanted to use the site to temporarily store up to five caravans prior to carrying out repairs or cleaning work on another site.
But four nearby residents objected on the grounds of possible noise and the risk that people would use the caravans to live in.
There was also an objection from Fearnhead Cross Community Centre, which shares the access with the site. They were concerned at the loss of parking space, and the risk reversing caravans could cause to elderly people who use the community centre.
Planning officers ruled that the development would have a detrimental effect on the area and the members of Warrington’s development management committee decided to refuse permission.
