POLICE at Warrington are appealing for witnesses following an arson attack which left two cars badly damaged.
The incident was in Poulton Crescent, Woolston at around 10.15pm on Sunday, September 20 but police have only just released details.
Two cars – both Nissan Quashqai – were involved.
Both were set alight, apparently by the rear windows being smashed and petrol being poured inside before being ignited.
Fire crews were called to the scene and extinguished the flames. But the fire was only a short distance from the house, where members of the family, including children, were present.
A police spokeswoman said: “There was a great potential for serious harm to human life as a result of this incident.”
Anyone who can help with information about the incident can call PC Philip Greaves on 0845 458 0000.
