THE Warrington site of Sellafield Ltd has chosen to support Warrington Grassroots this year making a £500 donation to the Endowment Challenge to help continue to provide grants to the local community.
Pauline Deans, Corporate Responsibility Officer, Sellafield Ltd said, “We have made a donation to the Warrington Grassroots Endowment Challenge and it will receive match-funding from the Government to make it £1000.00 in total. We selected Grassroots as it benefits many community groups rather than just one and we know the work of these groups’ impacts on the lives of our staff, family and friends. We are also excited to be getting involved and helping the community groups too via our staff volunteering programme which has many benefits from boosting staff morale through to developing leadership and team-building skills.”
Nigel Bacon, Chief Executive of Warrington Council for Voluntary Service added, “The Warrington Grassroots Endowment Challenge is thrilled to have received this donation, which will help to secure the future of grant giving in Warrington for many years to come and we look forward to working with Pauline and the staff at their Warrington site as they will be volunteering to take part in projects that the Grassroots Grants have commissioned.”
