Motorist suffers serious injuries

A WARRINGTON motorist suffered serious

chest injuries when his car careered off the road and collided with a

tree during the early hours of Sunday morning.
The accident occured on the A57 Manchester Road at 4.08am yesterday, Sunday, near the junction of Moat Lane and Hollybush Lane, Rixton.
A 31-year-old man was driving a Mondeo car towards Warrington when the vehicle left the road and collided with a tree. No other vehicle was involved.
The man suffered serious chest injuries and is currently being treated in Warrington Hospital.
Police are appealing for witnesses who should call Sgt Neil Farsworth on 0845 4580000.
