Club chaplain ordained

WARRINGTON Town FC Club Chaplain Lee Gilbert has been ordained as the new full-time minister at Latchford Baptist Church.
Lee, who arrived at the church on Loushers Lane three years ago, volunteering his services to the neighbouring football club, was ordained during a special service at the church by Regional Minister Phil Jump.
Special guests included supporters from the football club and the town’s Mayor Brian Axcell, who is also the church organist!
Lee, who grew up in Leicester, loves watching football and is a keen Leicester City fan – as well as Warrington Town of course!
Lee is pictured above showing his Warrington Town colours and right at his ordination and induction with his wife Helen, who teaches history at a local secondary school.
The couple met in Norwich while Lee was doing a history MA and Helen was working as a nurse. It was during this time he first “got the calling” to the Baptist Ministry.
