THE Rosebank Centre in Lymm has been judged by Ofsted to be “Outstanding” following a recent inspection earlier this year.

Sadie Hopley, Educational Director, said “We are pleased that the great work by our fabulous team of staff has been recognised. In particular, we are proud of the observation that our children’s language development is astounding in relation to their age”.

The inspector summarised the key findings for parents following the visit on January 8 as:-
•The well-qualified and experienced management team is truly inspirational. It is passionate and driven to provide only the highest possible standards in care and education. A culture of highly reflective practice is deeply embedded within the whole staff team. Together with suggestions from parents, they are constantly reviewing and adapting their already excellent practice.
•The key-person system is exceptional and children’s emotional well-being is treated with the utmost importance. Care routines for babies are precisely matched to those at home. For example, staff provide familiar noises to help to settle new babies at sleep time. Staff’s knowledge of children and their families’ individual needs is remarkable. Parents speak very highly of the manager and staff.
•Partnerships with parents are outstanding. Parents’ contributions to assessments are successfully captured using a range of excellent systems. The manager uses her expertise to help to support parents to build on children’s already superb learning at home. For example, parents attend a range of training sessions, for example how to enhance children’s knowledge of letters and sounds.
•The manager monitors children’s progress meticulously and she has an in-depth knowledge of each child. She meets regularly with staff to discuss children’s progress. She swiftly identifies the slightest emerging gap and provides expert interventions. Managers from linked settings moderate staff’s assessments. This helps to ensure that they are of a consistently high quality and accurate.
•Professional development for staff has an excellent impact on practice and children’s outcomes. For example, staff expertly support children’s physical well-being in a range of ways. They provide children with an abundance of exciting physical sessions daily, such as yoga and dance. Staff skilfully monitor children’s physical activity to ensure that they receive the recommended daily amount.
•Well-qualified staff demonstrate inspirational teaching skills. In particular, they place a sharp focus on communication and language and this is promoted exceptionally well throughout the nursery. Children are competent communicators and their language development is astounding in relation to their age.

Rosebank has been delivering high quality childcare and child development for the children in and around Lymm for nearly 30 years. It is a wonderful celebration of combining indoor and outdoor activities, and working with parents to provide the very best of environment for children to learn, play and develop.
