WARRINGTON woman Judith Guthrie has been re-appointed to serve as a non-executive director of 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust. She will now serve until November 30 next year.
Mrs Guthrie, (pictured) who is also a member of Burtonwood and Westbrook Parish Council, was appointed to the Trust as a non-executive director in 2006, serving a term of three years.
She is a senior lecturer in palliative care at Liverpool John Moores University, having first qualified as a nurse in 1976. She has more than 20 year’s service in the NHS.
Trust chairman Bernard Pilkington said: “It’s great that Judith has been re-appointed. She is a real asset to the board of directors and to the Trust as a whole.”
Mrs Guthrie has previously served as a borough councillor in St Helens and was chairman of St Helens and Knowsley Community Health Council for several years.
Mrs Guthrie is entitled to be paid remuneration at the rate of £6,096 a year and the reappointment has been made in accordance with the Commissioner for Public Appointment’s Code of Practice.
All non-executive appointments are made on merit and political activity plays no part in the selection process. However, in accordance with the original Nolan recommendations, there is a requirement for appointees’ political activity to be made public. Mrs Guthrie has held no other ministerial appointments and has not declared any political activity.
The 5 Boroughs Partnership NHS Trust supplies mental health services in the Warrington, Halton, St Helens, Knowsley and Wigan areas – a population of almost one million.
