School evacuated in fire alert

PUPILS returned to a Warrington primary school after the summer holiday this morning – and were promptly evacuated when the fire alarm went off.
The drama was at Penketh South Primarty School in Finlay Avenue, Penketh.
Fire crews rushed to the scene – to find it had all been a false alarm.
The alarm had been triggered by someone burning toast in the kitchen.
A Fire Service spokesman said: “It is standard procedure to evacuate a school when the fire alarm goes off – even if it turns out to be a false alarm.”
