A HOUSEHOLDER was overcome by smoke when fire broke out in a bedroom at a house in Kendal Avenue, Warrington.
Fire engines from Warrington and Birchwood were sent to the scene at around 8pm on Friday evening and two firefighters wearing breathing apparatus tackled the blaze with a hose reel jet.
The casualty was treated for the effects of smoke at the scene and did not require hospital treatment.
A ventilation unit was used to clear smoke from the property.
Crews were at the scene for about four hours.
