Hotel extension plan for theme park

PLANS for a 71-bedroom hotel extension at the Gulliver’s World theme park at Warrington have been submitted to the borough council.
The scheme would involve hotels themed as a pirate ship and a fairy-tale castle and planning consultants claim they would create 40 jobs and give a £6 million boost to the local economy.
It would also involve an associated village resort with a café, craft centre, children’s indoor play centre, crèche, guest reception and housekeeping facilities
The proposed development is said to be overhaul of plans approved in 2007 and will complement the existing theme park, as well as stimulating the local economy.
A public consultation was held in October and feedback from the public, local councillors and the council’s planning department has been considered and resulted in some changes being made.
