Michael heading for the States

A YOUNG Warrington tennis star is heading to the USA to take up a prestigious tennis scholarship.
Michael Ward, 18, is a member of Lymm Tennis Club.
As a result of winning the club President’s Award, he attended the world famous Nick Bollettieri Tennis Acadamy in Florida. He received offers of Tennis Scholarships from 25 American universities.
After considering the offers Michael chose Arkansas University and will play in their first team in Division 1, the top tier of US tennis, for the four years of his course.
Michael is part of the Cheshire Tennis Squad which won promotion this year to Division 1, and in spite of being out of action for a few weeks due to Swine Flu has improved his current British Senior Rating to 64.
Michael is a former pupil of Lymm High School, where he studied for A Levels.
