Man, 34, beaten up by gang

POLICE at Warrington are hunting a gang of youths who attacked a man as he walked home in the early hours of the morning.
The attack took place in Liverpool Road where the victim, aged 34, was walking home in the direction of Great Sankey.
He noticed a group of men and two women on the other side of the road – and was then attacked for no reason by the men, who crossed over to confront him.
The man was knocked to the ground, punched and kicked in the head, suffering serious face injuries which required hospital treatment.
Police are anxious to speak to a couple who were in the area at the time and approached the victim after the attack, asking if he needed help.
