Police in flap over missing owl

POLICE are in a flap over a missing bird at Warrington.
Mumble, a 2ft 6 inch tall Eagle Owl has flown the nest at his home in Great Sankey.
He is apparently not aggressive – but police are warning members of the public not to approach him if they see him because of his sheer size.
His wing span is put at 5-6 ft.
Mumble is owned by a falconer from the Great Sankey area and has been hand reared, so is used to being around people.
He often takes part in displays at carnivals and fetes. In the wild he would hunt at night, with small animals as prey.
Pet owners are being warned to be on their guard as he could take rabbits or guinea pigs.
The bird is brown, with large orange eyes and large feet.
Anyone who sees him is asked to call police on 0845 458 0000.
