A CONCERT is being held in memory of a Warrington man who was murdered in the town in August last year.
The Roy Waterfield Memorial Rock ‘n’ Roll Gig is to mark the first anniversary of his stabbing in Bewsey.
Money raised will go to Newlove Warrington, the charity launched by Helen Newlove, widow of fellow murder victim Garry Newlove, and for Leukaemia Research, as Roy’s brother died from the illness.
Roy’s ex-wife Julie said: “The event is to mark the first anniversary of the murder of my ex-husband.
“The Waterfield family and I are organising a charity event.”
Rock’n’Roll band The Ramshackle Daddies will be doing two sets and DJ Pineapple Jeff from Sheffield will also be appearing.
The event on Saturday, September 5, will be at The Alliance Club, Norman Street, Warrington from 7.30pm. Tickets, priced £5 include a raffle ticket and hot pot supper and are available by calling Dennis Waterfield 07518 160618, or emailing [email protected]
