CHESHIRE Search and Rescue team has received the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service; the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK.
The award was presented by Lord Lieutenant of Chesshire David Briggs at a presentation ceremony at the team’s training base, the Deanwater Hotel.
Team leader Simon Lane said “The whole team is delighted to receive this award, which can be aligned to receiving an ‘MBE for charities’. It’s a real honour to have our work over the last 14 years recognised in this way and a wonderful thank you to all those who give up their time and expertise to make the team what it is today.”
The team featured on BBC1s recent four-part documentary series “Reported Missing”, which depicted several searches the team was involved with.
